Druskininkai and Grutas park (120 km)are located in the southern, most forested part of Lithuania, in the area of Dzukija National Park. Apart from its nature, the ethnographic homesteads are preserved here. The well known spa Druskininkai among pine forest boasts exclusively mild microclimate. Always fresh air, pollution being down to zero, the mineral waters, the medical mud baths, the sanatoriums, the peace extending from the lake Druskonio- these are all advantages of the resort. Druskininkai also gained fame through the music and poetry festivities at Ciurlionis home. Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis (1875-1911), the outstanding Lithuanian composer and painter, creator of philosophical, innovative musical painting, lived here.

Grutas park, located in environs of Druskininkai, revives for a moment the soviet times. The Lenins and Stalins, and the local communist party leaders found their way from pedestals into this green vast area, revealing their crimes to the young generation. The owner of the museum is proud of the Alternative Nobel Prize award, handed to him in Chicago in 2001.
