3.Baltic Capitals-World Heritage Sites (9 days/ 8 nights)

Vilnius - Riga - Tallinn

Tour highlights the history and main architectural monuments in capital cities of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy natural and cultural heritage of National Parks in each country.

Vilnius

1 day: Arrival in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania. Meet and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Vilnius.

2 day: Sightseeing of Vilnius, UNESCO World Heritage site. At leisure. Dinner and overnight in Vilnius.

Sightseeing of Vilnius features Cathedral Square and Gediminas Tower (C.15), Gothic Churches of St. Anne and Bernardines’, Dawn Gates Chapel containing miraculous icon of St.Mary, Russian Orthodox Church of Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square, Old University campus (C.16-19), Presidential Palace, interior of Baroque style masterpiece Church of S.S. Peter and Paul.

Kaunas

3 day: Full day tour to Kaunas (100km) with sightseeing in Trakai en route. Trakai, medieval capital of Grand Duchy of Lithuania among lakes. Continuation to Kaunas. Sightseeing in Kaunas, second largest city. Dinner and overnight in Vilnius.

Sightseeing Trakai Historical National Park, one of the most impressive and picturesque locations in Europe, features Trakai old town, dwelling on peninsula. Two gothic castles (C.14-15) are known as the most prominent monuments of defensive architecture in Lithuania. Visit the Island Castle, housing Museum of History.
Sightseeing in Old Kaunas highligts Castle Square, Town Hall, known as White Swan, gothic Perkunas House. Time at leisure on main pedestrian street Liberty Ave.

Rundale Palace

4 day: After breakfast departure to Riga, capital of Latvia via Hill of Crosses. Sightseeing of splendid baroque style Rundale Palace (18 C.) on the way. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in Riga.

Sightseeing Rundale Palace (18 C.), designed by famous baroque style architect B. Rastrelli (author of Winter Palace in St. Petersburg) features restored illustrious interiors of Golden, White Halls, expositions of portrait, china collections, etc. It is the most popular tourism site outside Riga.

Riga

5 day: Sightseeing of Riga, World Heritage site. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Riga.

Sightseeing Riga highlights Dome Cathedral, the largest church in the Baltics (C.13), Livonian Order Castle, Blackheads House, the Old Guild House, wonderful collection of Art-Nouve (Jugendstil) buildings in the centre.

6 day: Travel to Tallinn via Gauja National Park. Visit to Sigulda, medieval Turaida Castle (15 C.), romantic Gutman’s Cave. Accommodation, dinner and overnight in Tallinn.

Tallinn

7 day: Sightseeing in Old Tallinn, World Heritage site. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Tallinn.

Sightseeing Old Tallinn includes Lower and & Upper Town, Toompea Castle (14 C.), Dome Cathedral (13 C.), the best preserved in North Europe Town Hall (15 C.), the oldest functioning Apothecary (1422), Kiek-in-de-Kök cannon tower, Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (C.19).

8 day: Full day trip to the most popular Lahemaa National Park. Dinner and overnight in Tallinn.

9 day: Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport. Departure.
